CVBT GENERALS

The Central Virginia Battlefields Trust is blessed to have partners like you who have decided to join our ranks and support our mission of saving the Civil War Battlefields of Fredericksburg, Chancellorsville, Mine Run, the Wilderness and Spotsylvania Courthouse here in the ever-expanding sprawl of Central Virginia. As you are aware, there is no shortage of important battlefield land at risk.

We, of course, always have the daily expenses of running the business. We are a 501c3 but still have need to cover our modest rent, and daily office and employee salaries. CVBT has always run on a shoestring and that has not changed. We have two full-time employees and everyone else is a volunteer. Yet our impact on battlefield preservation is vast and on par with much larger organizations of our type.

We have created a special designation for those, like you, who go beyond answering land appeals and membership dues and choose to invest in the organization further.

This is an INVESTMENT in an organization that has proven for three decades that big successes can come from a relatively moderately sized group of dedicated individuals and partners

CVBT feels that anyone qualifying to join the ranks of The Generals should garner special consideration.

Brigadier Generals are those who give an additional $1,000 per year over and above membership and land appeal donations.

Major Generals are those who give an additional $2,500 per year over and above membership and land appeal donations.

Each level includes Generals Club only benefits. This is our way of saying Thank You!

Please enlist below and note each levels features you will receive.

By becoming a CVBT General your truly become part of the Foundation of CVBT!

Central Virginia Battlefields Trust (CVBT) is a 501(c)(3) organization. TAX ID 54-1828344. Contributions are tax deductible. Consult your tax advisor for more information.

We remain good stewards of the monies entrusted to us by our members and friends. The Board remains all volunteer, no Board member gets paid a cent, and we are serious about putting as much of every dollar contributed to us as is humanly possible into “dirt and grass.”

No matter the amount, your donation is critical to our mission. Membership is just the first step. Every day we lose many acres of hallowed ground and every day we face another threat. CVBT needs your financial support and we need it continuously. You are the backbone that allows us to do what we do best – SAVE BATTELFIEDS.

I believe that we share a common understanding that these men would have wanted and would have expected their sacrifice and their suffering to be acknowledged, honored, and respected, and I believe too, that we share the conviction that the best way to do this is to save the very ground they sanctified, ground which in the most literal sense is sacred soil, ground whose destruction would dishonor what they did and why they did it, would dishonor both their memory and the meaning of their sacrifice.
